Malmö, Copenhagen

September 2009

This was a very short trip from Friday to Sunday. As usual, I travelled with my friend Anup, who simply could not miss a single minute of the trip. We flew with Wizzair to Malmö, took a train to Copenhagen right away, stayed two nights there, then got back to Malmö for one night, and flew back.

While in Copenhagen, we did the usual stuff - went to say hello to the little mermaid, paid a call to to the Carlsberg brewery, admired a splendid collection of beer bottles there, and walked through the famous Elephant Gate. Note the swastika symbol on the blanket; this logo was abandoned in the 1930s because of its association with political parties in neighboring Germany. We also enjoyed great rijsttafel dinner and did a little bar crawling through the "most happening street" in Copenhagen.

I think that in Copenhagen, there is the most expensive beer I have ever seen. I mean the regular price everywhere around the wider city center, not just some posh bar or so. The cost was around 10-11 US dollars. It was much cheaper in Sweden while I thought it would be the other way around. Well, it was quite expensive trip, I must say.

In Malmö, we just walked through the town and amongst some other things, visited a museum (don't remember which one was that).
