(August 2008)
This year we had a staff meeting in Broomfield, Colorado. After that, with Anup and Mark, we moved to Rocky Mountain National Park, and me and Mark then set off to Yellowstone National Park.
There is some info about our trip in case you want to go to Yellowstone yourself.
I borrowed Rollei db 60 camera for this trip. It's definitely not the best camera you can buy. Sometimes it thought that the most beautiful color in the world was pink, and it was green the other time. Sometimes it thought that freezing the whole system was the real fun. Anyway, it was able to take some very nice pictures. The next time, I should probably also wipe the lense from time to time.
Bourlderado has a very nice hotel Boulderado with cool Catacombs bar underground. In Denver, I also saw my first real baseball game. I wouldn't be suprised if it was my last baseball game. Rocky Mountains are impressive. No wonder that Denver International Airport roof resembles its shape. Hmm, a slightly better picture of the roof is here. Colorado river, one of the world's mightiest rivers, is not impressive (yet). And there were moments when it wasn't that clear that we visited the park in the middle of summer.
If you heard that Yellowstone is beautiful, believe it. And yes, there is a lot of yellow color in many places. However, the name source is not clear. You can see a wide variety of wild animals there even when they might not seem to be too wild at all. They can become wild enough in a moment as some people find out every year. We spent just 2 full days in Yellowstone and since there are so many things to visit (for example, the park is of volcanic nature and you can see thermal areas at many places), we took just one trail into the wild. It was a 3 hours long trail to Shoshone Lake, definitely an area inhabited by grizzlies and black bears. Who knows which one of them was responsible for this craftwork.
All in all, two wery nice weeks in US.
